Preventive Dental Hygiene
Routine oral examinations and hygiene cleanings at Dr. Coopersmith, Dr. Bercovici & Associates Dental Centre in Montreal can help you prevent any dental issues and feel confident revealing your healthy smile.

Oral Examinations
Ideally twice a year, you'll visit your dentist for a routine oral exam. This gives them the opportunity to identify any oral health issues and create a plan to treat them accordingly.
During your exam, your dentist will closely check the health of your teeth, gums, bite and jaw. An exam may also involve an oral cancer screening, dental x-rays and other procedures.
Oral Cancer Screening
Any part of the mouth or surrounding tissues can become infected with oral cancer. During your exam, your dentist will inspect your face, throat, tongue, lips, neck, gums and tissues for any signs of oral cancer, which can be difficult to detect with the naked eye.
Oral Health Care at Home
Keeping your smile healthy between dental appointments is critical to good overall oral health. Remember to brush your teeth twice daily for two minutes each time. Floss at least once per day.
Hygiene Cleaning
The deep cleaning of your teeth and gums is an essential component to a thorough oral exam. Your dental hygienist will perform this critical task before or after your exam.
To start, they will use a scaler to eliminate any tartar and plaque buildup. Next, a polisher will be topped with coarse toothpaste and used to remove any remaining plaque or stains. This will be followed with a thorough flossing of your teeth and gums.
Fluoride Treatment
Has your dentist identified you or your child as being at high risk of tooth decay? A fluoride treatment may be recommended. This natural mineral can help to rebuild the minerals in your tooth enamel to prevent or reverse decay.
